So here's our welsummer. We got her back in October and when we got her we thought she might have been broody. After posting some pictures of her and and asking some question we determined that she was not broody and might be molting. Well two months later we have not seen any change in her feathers. She hasn't lost many in the past month. And we have still yet to get an egg... Anyways I thought I'd post another picture to see what you guys think! Is it possible that she is still a pullet??? When feeling her pubis bones I don't think she could pass an egg. Thats one reason why we are thinking shes still young... But the thing is when you look at her she looks older... When a hen gets past her laying prim do her pubis bones come close together again??? Hopefully someone can give me their opinion!!!

well i do agree that she looks older then she is but maybe she's just not ready or you could get a rooster to mount her thats what I've done and it works just saying i know people say it doesn't but it worked for me a few times or give her more vitamins she could be low on calcium or a vitamin she needs for eggs sometimes that happens. I've been with chickens all my life and I've had so many breeds I'm breeding polish right now and I'm doing great at it I'm gonna go into barred rocks soon but keep some of my polish do breed i also breed game birds to and pigeons so I've had some experience with a lot of birds.

She looks like a hen that's not laying for whatever reason. Her comb and wattles are large, but not very plump or red. She also has legs that look older. There are lots of reasons that she might not be laying now, such as her body still thinks she's moulting, or not enough light.

They have light so maybe she still thinks she molting... She doesn't even squat for me... I don't know whats up with her

Here's a more recent picture of summer I took these today! Do you guys notice any change in her wattles and comb???

She looks pinker to me--maybe she's getting ready to lay again?

Lets hope!!! I don't know if you have seen my other posts about her but long story short she was really small and under weight when we got her... her previous owner didn't take good care of her...

If anyone hasn't seen Summer finally laid an egg... yesterday! No egg today but I got her to squat for the first time since we've had her...

Well :( we haven't had anymore eggs from summer and its been over a week... Kinda disappointed but we still have hope... Yesterday she spent two sessions of 30 minutes up in the nesting box. It seemed like she wanted to lay but we checked her and can't feel any egg.....
