Pullet? Rooster?

OH! OK, I get it now, I be dumb sometimes. . . . . :p
Well you aren't the only one. I honestly believed that my long legged chick with red on her wings was a pullet...

I'm crying now. :hit Lucille IS a boy, I have to come to terms with that. It's messing up my plans for the flock and I am sad. I'm waiting for her to crow, as Greybeard started crowing and she should be too. She is larger than he, but seems a little behind in development. So right now I have 5 boys. I know I'm going to sell two, and am not sure what to do with Lucille. :he Damn! Here are the photos from today.

I'm so sorry that Lucille is a Male. He is a beauty. I hope you can keep him.

Sorry to hear about Lucille. Hopefully 'his' journey (this thread) will help others trying to sex their ambiguous birds in the future. The legacy will live on! Also like to say that Greybeard has become quite a striking bird:love Good luck with choosing the 3 that get to stay, won't be easy but it's just a fact of life. Best wishes

I can keep him if I want to, but I don't know if I want to. I have Harvey the Great :love and I was going to keep Greybeard. I didn't want more than two. I just wanted a rooster that I can get something other than black chicks! I have to think about this more. And sell the other two roosters ASAP now! :barnie

Yes, greybeard is really getting pretty and his crow is developing nicely too. I want to keep my Harvey and Greybeard and I guess I'll keep Lucille who's name will be changed to Virden until a problem arises. . . . . Lucille was Mom's name, Dad's name was Virden.
 Their chick mates are Barbara Ann (my sister), and one other I hadn't named but she will become Lucille now.
