The vet said that if I didn't bring him in when I did then he would have died. I'm so glad I listened to that little voice in my head.Good for you having this poor baby! Hope he can finally turn around for the better.
All the best,
Mary
One of our Boxers didn't need to be trained around small animals either. They are such good, goofy dogs and they refuse to grow out of the puppy stage. He's such a good boy also. He doesn't chase the chickens or cats. He let's the chciks jump all over him. Never had to train him for that, he just did it himself.
I would think so too, but I thought the OP asked on another thread about dog food recommendations and how they were trying to feed him wet dog food and steak, etc.I'm assuming that he's on whatever the vet recommended for food, worming, all that.
And don't think that this sick puppy will be a saint when he feels better! He's been super sick ever since he arrived, and when he's in a better state of health, be ready!

The vet has not changed his diet other than saying to keep him on wet food for a couple of days. The only reason I tried steak was because he literally was not eating anything. That's how I knew something was wrong and why I brought him in. And this surgery just happened yesterday after I made that post asking about how to get him to eat. The intussusception was not caused by the food I was giving him,it was caused by the parasite overload he had from before I got him. He was full of worms and coccidia and because of that it caused persistent diarrhea which caused this to happen. We dewormed him the first day we got him along with vaccinating him.I would think so too, but I thought the OP asked on another thread about dog food recommendations and how they were trying to feed him wet dog food and steak, etc.
I had posted a comment on another post. I was asking about food because he literally did not eat even 1 bite of food for 2 days and I was concerned on how to get him to eat. I mentioned that I even tried offering him steak and he refused. That's how I knew something was wrong. His vet now wants him on wet food for a few days then we will introduce hard kibble slowly. His intestines are still pretty inflamed and angry.Didn't find another thread under the OP's name. Diet does matter here!
