Purina Omega 3 Price

Unless prices go down I don't think i'll be able to afford the price of Blk oil sunflower seeds, that is such a bummer, I've been feeding native wild birds for years and to think i might not be able to this winter is sad, plus I give it too the chickens too.

It just so happens that last night one of the farm supplies I do business with had a "Backyard Flock Meeting" with a Purina Mills rep. It was geared to the complete newcomer but I took the child so she could get some experience and it gave me a chance to fill his ear about my thoughts on their downsizing their bag sizes. I told him they should keep the feed in fifty pound bags as it has customarily come in all of my life and price it accordingly. No one is fooled by the smaller bags while keeping the price the same.

good for you, I have emailed Purina asking about the coupons we are suppose to be getting after joining their program, i haven't gotten one since May or end of April, still waiting on reply.

I hate to say it, but I have also complained to Purina....huge, long story but.....it did no good.

Customer service said they "could not help me" and were unable to answer my questions.

I use a good amount of FR.............12 bags a month right now.

I wish we had a grain mill around here that could custom blend for me

I am not using as much feed as you are HF, 4 bags in about 4 weeks but we will be processing our extra roos soon, so that will help some. But wondering if this is just another way to try to force the backyard farmer out of keeping live stock. My chickens and ducks free range too. But I am also feeding the chipmonks not intentionally but don't know how to keep them out of the feed , they just walk right past the chickens to get to it. I even had 2 possums eating their feed once with everyone laying around watching them. good grief. And if I didn't put out BLk oil sunflower seeds for the wild native birds they would be helping themselves to the c/d food.

How is this going to, "force the backyard farmer out of keeping live stock"?

poultry feed to.

I don't know one big poultry fanciest that uses Purina feed. In fact the breeders (poultry and other livestock) that I know stay far away from Purina feed.

What do you recommend Chris? I would love to move to a product that had less corn and more animal products.

My feedstore - they are good people - and will try to get in whatever I think I need.

Not trying to knock Purina only just concerned about the prices continueing to rise, I would like to get away from soy based feed but can't afford to have organic feed sent to me, and I am not sure what else to try, since i have used Purina Sun fresh products for over 7 years and nothing else. In my part of N.C. there isn't a feed mill.
