Purple eggs??

I think it may be that powdery coating..... my RIR lays a pinkish egg because of it. Not sure if you can get a shiny pink egg or not. I'd love to see pics of pink eggs

Awesome! Now that is what I am looking for. I would love to see pics of natural purple eggs. That would at least show this is possible somehow. The ones I seen just had spots.

I am hoping to work on a lavender egg it is going to be one of my projects but I have just been collecting the various breeds I want to try for it. I am just about ready to begin maybe in a few years I will actually get one, I have heard that they DO exist!

I'm sorry everyone. I was looking for that egg epically this morning. I think my dad ate it. The annoying thing is that Warhol only lays purple eggs every once in a while. Her 'ink' is very inconsistant. Why did my dad have to eat THAT egg!?

I'm sorry. Hopefully as the season continues to warm up, she'll begin to lay regularly and maybe I'll get more.

I really wanted to get a pic of it, too.

Here's what she looks like. I'm not totally sure if she has some EE in her but that would explain it the most. Her comb is V mixed with Single, so most likely no. Maybe someone can help me out. (?) Her eggs are either brown/pink on most days but every once in a while we get purple-ish eggs from her. Meduim sized.

I'll be hunting those eggs in the mean-time!

My Black Marans hen lays an egg with a purple hue. Here is a picture I really can't get the purple to show up in the picture the eggs are way more purple in person.
