Depends on the shade.

Lavender- soothing and mellow.
Bright purple- zingy and an interesting hair color
Deep purple- regal and kingly/queenly
Magenta- A purple/pink wanna-be! Hate that color!

Did you know deep purple dye from whelks was used to dye the Roman's cloaks?

The Color Purple was a very good movie featuring Oprah and Whoopi. I may not care for their politics but they both played good parts.


Now if you mean the color then I LOVE the way Horsefeathers described it.


Purple is usually a sign of extreme intelligence, good looks, and a fabulous personality.

Yeah, when someone says purple, I automatically think of PurpleChicken and "What did he do, now?"

Unless it's my DD saying, "I wanta wear the Purpoh dwess!" then I just think, "Awww"

Purple, like horsefeathers said, depends on shade. It's regal when in dark shades, also very calming for me. I used to have a plum colored bedroom and loved it, sigh, I miss that room.

I can't believe you asked, I just painted my coop dark purple with dark green trim. I'm now trying to figure out a third color for accent. I intend to make shutters. I wish I could post a pic. I'm not real happy with the shade though.

Purple is the perfect color for a minidress to go dancing in, it says I'm confident enough to wear a non black dress, without screaming "notice me!!!!" like a red one.

As for purple chickens, I suspect it's a dye-job.
