Purply/Black Comb, Wattles and Beak

In addition to what Seminolewind stated, you can pick her up and put your ear to her chest...if you hear a "clicking" noise, it's most likely a heart or heart muscle problem, there is no cure.

Oh no! One of mine did that a couple of weeks ago, I found that the most likely cause was some sort of heart problem. She went downhill really quickly on a sunday and I couldnt get her to a vet, unfortunately she died the next day. I'd get her checked out as soon as you can. Hope it isn't as serious as mine, but best to be careful.... Good luck, fingers crossed for you!

Hello,

The blood issue seemed to have resolved, however, there is now a yellow discharge from her mouth, when her abdomen is massaged. And now her comb is flopping over.

Yellow sounds like infection, no?

Let me know if you'd like to see a photo of her flopped over comb.

Thx.

From her mouth-could just be gastric secretions.
My first hen had the purple comb/wattles thing, it went on for over a month, clearing up every few days, then turning purple again. But she had no energy the whole time. Then she died. She was my first hen, she arrived de-beaked, and I never let her know she was different.
