Put eggs in the bator 9-9-12 anyone want to hatch along????? :0)

My eggs are in lockdown as of last night. They should hatch Thursday and Friday. My hatches run later than early. I set the first batch on September 6th. Only one was questionable, and I stuck it in with the later batch. It was not ready to hatch if it is alive. No movement, so I'm thinking it's a quitter.

Here is hoping for some pip and zips.

Well my eggs should be here tomorrow and will have them in the same bator as the ones due to hatch next week. I've done staggered hatches before in the same bator. I just removed some of the turning trays out of the ones that are in lock down. I haven't noticed yet that increasing the humidity for a couple of days really affects the ones not in lock down. Here's hoping for a good staggered hatch!

Here is hoping these eggs get here in better condition then the last.

I want to join in I am behind and virtually clueless but I am going to cadle and see if i see anything but I really don't know what to look for I don't even know the breed i have they are just chickens. I moved to the middle of the country and I thought that is what I was suppose to do is have chickens but they are alot of fun. I had to send one of my rooster off he was mean and was always trying to get me. But I have 10 eggs in the bator so we will wait nd see what happens.

I called the lady at the post office - of course she remembered me from my last batch of eggs (not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing). But she was very nice and said she'd keep an eye out for my eggs and call me as soon as they come in so I could come get them. She apologized again for my last batch of eggs even tho it wasn't her fault. I really think she felt terrible about the last shipment.

Lol, I am sure a box of broken stinky eggs they had to keep around for a few days would be hard to forget.

Hopefully these won't be the same way.

Time for LOCKDOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ugggh!!!!!!!!!!

I keep going in and looking at them and so far nothing. Not a rock or a wiggle. I know I just went into lockdown but, my last hatch everyone was starting to rock or wiggle by now. I know that the chances of any babies making it out of this hatch are slim to none and I knew it before I even ordered them but, can't I get at least two.

At this point I would be happy with one and then maybe buy it a friend from somewhere.

Oh yea, on a happier note my Imported Chocolate Orpington should be arriving at my house any minute. The courier already let me know he was there and that they were gonna deliver him to me before they did their regular route. So I am sitting on my porch waiting and sipping coffee.

I hope he gets here soon I can't sit on my porch all day.

How many made it into lockdown? Why do you expect such a low hatch rate?

By the way, that egg I put with the others has definitely died. The veins have faded now. So only one has died that was not fertile.

Good luck on the eggs! Can't wait to see pics of fluffy butts and that new Choc Orphington!

I called the PO this morning when I took my son to school my eggs were in. I went and picked them up after they opened at 8. The box was in lots better shape and the eggs were packaged better! They're resting on my counter right now. Will candle them and put them in the bator tonight.
