Putting eggs in the bator on July 25, does anyone wanna hatch along???

I came home for lunch and my little tiny one was still at the point it was at last night...I have peeled the top of the egg off and opened the membrane...he/she is inside the bottom half of the shell but head is out...I am going to leave it to kick the bottom half off itself, since I don't want to risk the yolk not being absorbed and all. I got no blood when I opened the top so that is a good sign. Baby is COAL black... I mean black black... pictures later

Yay! At least it's partway out :) Can't wait to see pics!

I'm a sucker.....I bought a replacement. Local lady had a group of silkie chicks that are about a week old. I brought home the smallest one. I needed a chick TODAY.

my husband is annoyed.. oh well.

LOL! Tell him it's either another chicken or crying kids

Did you have more in there? I can't remember how many eggs you had set -- any more coming?

I keep adding water to get the humidity up its 74 worried about this one guy still in then over do it and get i t 85 then crack the lid but the temp goes down .Now its 83 is it still too high?ya think?
I an getting impatient for him to hatch flipping the same piece of shell for 5 hours.Actively but the same piece. The shell is cracked enough if he stretched it would open in half but he pecks this same flippin piece. .hard too but its already loose so doesnt help open the restCOME ON CHICKY!

Hee! He's like my son when he was younger -- doesn't want to get out of his nice warm bed!

Oh, and I'd leave it alone. If you're up above 70% your humidity is fine, I'd think! Just give him a little time to make up his mind :) (Like I know what I'm talking about, but that's my take on it, at least.)

The first baby to hatch (two days early)...this one's daddy is a silkied Serama, and his Mama is smooth (split to silkied) Serama. Likely will be a little silkied babe! LOOK HOW ITSY!!!!!

LoL Right after I said that I went out side to check on the eggs and I saw the mama off so I was wondering why she was off because she was off earlier today so I went in the coop and I lisned and I heard something moving in the nest and then I saw a tiny little crack in a silkie egg!!! Idk if I have my times off because I pretty much just guessed when she started sitting, or one silkie egg is hatching early!!!!
