Putting up Christmas lights today! :)

I've never put any up. We live on a road with very little traffic so it's not like very many people would see them.

I live in a 100 year old house with a huge white fence along the road. Every room in my house has a full sized tree - the trees are color coordinated with the bedrooms. The tree in the kitchen is decorated with kitchen theme ornaments. Mini trees go in the big bathrooms. The fence is decked with boughs and bows.

No Christmas before Thanksgiving. It is a rule.

No lights for us until after Thanksgiving but its always tempting to me right after Halloween is over!

I've been putting up C-7s along the gutter since I moved to Michigan. I usually like to get them up before the snow hits as well but I refuse to turn them on till after Thanksgiving. DH thinks I'm weird because we live in the woods and the only creatures that see them are dogs, deer, and this year my new chickens!

In our last house in VA which we designed and had built I made sure there was a wall plug near every window for candles, no extension cords required. My builder thought it was a brilliant idea. That colonial looked great every Christmas. I miss that. Plenty of people could see that house.

OOOOOOh I forgot to mention that I will be putting lights on my chicken coop, and maybe two more little wreaths, one on each human-sized door.... It would be pretty.

Hubs only wants real trees in the house, though I've always wanted one of those big gaudy silver tinsel trees so I went out two years ago and bought a mini tabletop one....
I just saw faux pink and purple trees at Wal-mart last week as well *gags*

I am so glad I am not the only crazy one!!! I always start X-mas decorating the week aftr Halloween!! It goes by so fast and I have so many decorations it takes a long time to put them all out.I want to enjoy them for as long as I can!! I can't wait to show the hubby that I am NOT the only one!!! Thanks for this topic guys!!!
