Putting up Christmas lights today! :)

Your house is crying out for those single white candles! My family always ran extension cords when there wasn't a socket nearby. Those battery powered lights never lasted more than an hour or so.

Wreaths and simple green garlands with red bows would be great. I think roofline lights for that style house would be overkill. JMHO though.

I am so glad we live in the south and don't have snow or ice to dictate when we decorate for the holidays. My son will likely want to have the Halloween decorations up for 1 more week before I am finally able to decorate for Thanksgiving. I have my cornucopia ready to be stuffed full of fruits and miniature gourds & pumpkins. The dried arrangements are still in process on paper. Not enough "turned" leaves yet to get started.

As far as Christmas... we'll get started on Friday after Thanksgiving. The DH & DS love the colored lights, trains and fun wrapping paper. They are restricted to decorating in the back of the house ONLY. I handle the front which is done in little white lights and garland & wreathes accented with big red bows. Our house definitely has a split personality.

No No No No NO!!!

It's way to early. We havent even gotten to Thanksgiving yet!!!!!!!

LOL My holiday orders are starting to come in. I have a ChickenStock/craft fair on the 8th AND I have a craft fair the 7th of December that I will be the ONLY fudge and or baker at!

I now have the bakers I share the kitchen with making the fudge as well, since I am working part time and just cant get down there like I could.

I have the Christmas music ready though. And I actually know where the outdoor decoration and the window lights are this year.

Totally agree about the candles. I use them too. You come out a whole lot better going ahead and buying extension cords rather than a case or two of batteries that will be dead in a week. And DON'T forget extra bulbs! Just call me the voice of experience. :o

my mother is so picky about her tree that when I was a kid I wasn't allowed to touch it cause I would do it wrong, she actually counted the tinsel on each branch 10 pieces of tinsel no more,no less.
I have a yule celebration and we do 2 trees, one on the front porch done with birds, pinecones and flower picks
And one in the house done with things the grandkids and DD and I make and all the other stuff from other years and the kids decorate it with me.
And my mother comes over every year and tells me my tree is ugly.
I think its beautiful and hers is ugly cause no love went into it. She has OCD
so I try to forgive her

What about Thanksgiving?

Rule at our house, we never put up Christmas decorations until the weekend after Dec 4th (Hubby's birthday)

Yes but are they real trees or faux trees?
Hubs only wants real trees in the house, though I've always wanted one of those big gaudy silver tinsel trees so I went out two years ago and bought a mini tabletop one....
I just saw faux pink and purple trees at Wal-mart last week as well *gags*

Can anyone say Charlie Brown Christmas??? I'm a major believer in that one....although we DID have to go with fake this year. Went to wal mart after Christmas and got a $200 for $25.....I LOVE CLEARANCE!!!

Wow. Even I'm not that crazy about the tree. How sad that she calls your tree ugly. She does her tree the way she wants, so you do your tree the way you want!
I know I'm going to have to stop my tree decorating ways when my son is old enough to decorate. I don't want him to feel like he can't do it right.

The greatest trees are when kids are between the ages of 3 & 7 and they put ALL the ornaments are on the bottom two levels of boughs. It was just so cute when Bill was little!
