Babies!!!! They started hatching yesterday, got these photos this morning. There were 7 eggs on Monday, hoping for 7 chicks.

I’m happy that the ones I can see seem to be more Buff than yellow. Correct hatch color is a good starting point, I think.

It's good she went broody like they are supposed to, I wish mine would.
I hope she takes good care of them, I read somewhere that they are good broodies but not as good mums.

I’m ready to pull them and put them in a brooder if I need to.
I’ll be eye-balling them closely.

Since I have eggs ready to hatch soon, I’m considering releasing this pair to make room.
If anyone is interested, I’ll be getting better photos.
I’m located in NJ, but can ship.

Looking forward to better pictures of your hen How old are they? I know you've mentioned it before but it's just after 3am and my brain isn't working so well

One of my hens went broody!!!
She has like two dozen eggs though, so I'll need to take some away.
I hope she follows through
She's tried a couple times before but never hatched any (though they would have been mutts anyway).
