Quail eggs making me violently ill

I love my tiny jerk birds, but I have this problem; every time I eat the eggs I get violently sick. Like vomiting multiple times. What the heck? I realize they have higher nutrient levels but it can’t be that, right? The two instances that I ate my quail eggs they were cooked over medium/hard, not under done. I can eat 2 chicken eggs but I get very sick after 3 tiny quail eggs. Any pointers? Pictures of one of my eggs and the noisy jerk rooster that kept me awake the other night.

That is strange. I read that 1 quail egg has the same nutritional content as about 2 chicken eggs, and if you eat over 4-5 of them, you may feel sick. Quail eggs contains 140% of vitamin B1, while chicken eggs contain only 50%. Maybe all of the vitamin B1 is too much for your stomach to handle.

Sounds like an allergy issue rather than a food poisoning issue. Food allergies can get worse with exposure. Please check with you doc and don't eat any more quail eggs until you know for sure.

Egg Fact:
Bird eggs have a bunch of proteins in both the white and yolk, but not every species has every protein. So if a person is allergic to a protein found in a chicken egg that is absent in quail eggs, then they can eat quail eggs just fine. Vice versa.

Some people are unlucky and react to the proteins that are shared equally across Galliformes (chickens, quail, chukar, etc.) but can eat duck eggs (which are from a different order of bird).
