hi one of my male quails foot is bleeding and i belive the nail was ripped off, i went to check on them and he had started bleeding, he had a bit of poop on that foot but i did not rip it off. i put flour in a carrier with him in it to help stop bleeding and it is yet to stop as he has been moving around. any tips for me and also after it is compleatly done bleeding can i put him back or will the other 5 quail peck at it and make it bleed again?

thanks

If you have Blukote you can add that to the wound and he'll be fine with the others, and if not, you should maybe post some pictures so we can better identify the severity of the injury- and when he should be released back with the others. Best of luck!

i sadly do not have Blukote and he is still getting used to me so i don't know how well he will let me assess it. i belive the nail is compleatly gone.

In that case, I would keep him inside for a bit so he can calm down and so the bleeding can stop, if you have a proper cage (a dog crate will work). As Phantom said, you can bandage the toe gently and he'll most likely be fine with the others.
