I have a bird who I just found today to be just laying there...He can move his legs...wings...but doesnt seem to want to move his head...He can but there must be something wrong...I set him down and he either sits up-right if possible or flops over. Doesnt appear to be in pain it is almost like he has just all of a sudden gone paralyzed.
Please help!

Sam, I am so sorry to hear this. Check the feed dish and surrounding area for signs of mold. Surely sounds like botulism. You can either put him down or try a molasses flush.

Is it possible he could have bonked his head on the roof of the cage? I had a button quail that sounds just like what you described, and it was because she popped up and hit her head too hard...

I had to put her down.

That could be possible..I will wait and see and then put it down if need be...Jody I dont think it was mold as I move their feeder pretty muchly every day...But I cant wait to get them back onto the wire bottomed pen here in the next week or so. Ground pen is just too hard.
