Quail Hatching Help (Day 18)

If it's not an illusion. It almost looks like the egg that busted was setting in water.

I advised to remove it. With the amount of humidity on the glass a quick openshouldnt have hurt
I thought he was talking about taking the water out? No it wouldn't hurt to get the egg out but taking the lid off will more than likely make the droplets fall onto the eggs, not good either way.

So glad to hear they are hatching. The wait can be torturous! Next time (trust me - there'll be a next time) candle them before putting them into lockdown - then you can weed out any infertile or dead eggs. The chicks are so adorable - just remember to show them where the water is. Just tap the surface and they'll come over to investigate and start pecking there too.

I candle all my eggs (quail and pheasant)on day 8 or 10 if any are infertile at that time I toss'em. Button quail can be candled day 5
So any updates on how the hatch is going this morning.
Update: 2 quail have hatched, 4 eggs have holes, and 1 quail has his legs out and half his body but is stuck in egg and is like this for hours.

Can you whip the stuck one out of the incubator? He may have dried out a bit and got stuck to the shell membrane. Just carefully chip away the shell to see what's going on (if there's still visible, red veins stop, wet him down a bit, and leave him a bit longer) but if he's stuck moisten with a bit of warm water and the membrane should loosen off so that he becomes unstuck.

While I am opening the incubator for the stuck chick can I take out a 7-9 hour old chick?

Congrats on what' hatched so far.

As long as your brooder is ready and chick is dry take him out.

I would assist the stuck one.
