I saw one for my chickens but i;ve searched the forums and cannot find what kind of superfood treats and snacks to supplement my quail with.

Right now they are on organic game bird food and organic home grown wheatgrass. I want to add in organic raw sprouted pumpkin seeds and organic steel cut oats (both chopped very fine). What about organic alfalfa sprouts?

DOes anyonw have a good snack chart with the benefits of each food on it that is specifically for quail?

I don't know of a chart, but they like mealworms, which are high protein but also contain a lot of fat (so I hear).

I hang up kale leaves for my birds, and they like the inside part of cucumbers and melons. I've seen that some people grow sprouts for their quail, so high protein like alfalfa and clover would be good for them. They also will eat grass and stuff if you have a tractor or outside pen for them.

Perfect! I have tons of mealworms, and I grow organic wheatgrass and have organic alfalfa. They seem to enjoy the grass better but they werent opposed to the alfalfa. Thanks for your input!

I STRONGLY endorse mealworms as a good go-to treat (but beware, they're fatty enough to put weight on such little birds). Mine will eat all vegetables, from lettuce to fennel and radish. They also eat grass clippings if I provide them fresh. I like to feed them fruit in halves, so they can tear hunks off, otherwise I find they struggle with medium-size food bits.

Mine go crazy for alfalfa sprouts and sunflower sprouts. Budgie seed is also a nice treat scattered about so they have to find it, and they love millet (but being lower in protein just as a treat).
