"Quail Thread-Hatching, Mutations, and everything quail related!!!"

Thanks!!
They are a little dirty right now- the white ones have a few black spots on them. Are the others "Wild Color" Pharaoh, or what? I have mostly those, but the Rosettas I have, that you identified & now these little ones:)
Do you know how to sex the A&Ms?
they dust bath so just give a bowl of sand

I think I have 1 A&M & the other is all white with yellowish around the eyes.
So, no matter what, don't have more than iroo to 3 hens? Even if they're getting along? They will stress her too much?

I have hatched quail twice now. I am totally enjoying my quail. My first quail hatched March 24th & 25th. I kept 8 hens & 1 cock. The first egg was laid from those hens today at only 5 weeks & 2 days old! I figured they'd be 9 weeks before I got any eggs! Happy Dance! I weighed some of my Jumbo Brown Coturnix quail the other day.... Mature Quail: Hens 13.4 oz & 11.3 oz, Cock 10.2 oz 5 Week olld Quail: Hens 8.1 oz & 7.5 oz, Cock 7.3 oz I sell quail eggs to a professional chef. When he picked up his last order he gave me some of the quail eggs back that he'd pickled. One was a double yolk! I hadn't seen that before! My quail are all the wild brown color. In each hatch I've gotten one or two white quail with small wild color patches. Apparently a couple of my adult quail carry a recessive white gene.... English White? Texas A&M? Photo from my most recent hatch... Excited to find an active quail thread!
Your wild browns are probably descended from White Wing Pharoahs. J.M.F. sells them. Your whites are not A&M or English whites. But a more genetically dominant white as they will show on a wild brown. I have two of these birds from a hatch of White Wing Pharoahs. Robbie told me that when bred together they will produce variations of white and pharoah. I intend to see if they will put white on my goldens as I find that quit lovely. Mark them so they do not get mixed in with the other whites if you have any.

Here is video of my coturnix quail dust bathing.

(I didn't video it sideways don't know why it got turned! Guess I'll have to remember this when taking videos with my cell phone.)

I have found that if my quail start really throwing their food out of the food bowl that they want to dust bath.

Thanks for the info! Now have a direction to look to try to understand the genetics behind the surprise whites!

I do not have any other whites so no problem mixing them.

What did you put in there for them? Is that DE or Sand? Can you just use Play Sand?

Quail are my "starter poultry", and I am learning with them on small scale before ramping up to bigger birds. Please excuse the dumb questions.
