Quail with mobility issues

Greek stock, humm...never heard that before now? After describing the conditions, it could one of many a plethora of problems with those quail. Sorry you had to see the ugly side of some of the breeders (if you can call them that) that are in it to only make a buck...sad. Lesson learned, though.

Very true! The guy is from Greece so maybe he brought eggs here and hatched them to get started? I honestly don't know, that's a new addition to his CL ad.

Unless he's filthy rich and has "connections" he wouldn't be able to get any birds imported from Greece. Sounds more like he's playing on 1st time buyers not knowing any better. Either way it's just sad and puts all breeders in a bad light.

Yes please add new DNA. Maybe even a swap. Not sure where you are but several people around me like to swap mapes to help infuse new DNA.

Great idea Derrin, thanks. I hadn't thought of that! I live in Phoenix and don't know anyone else that's raising quail though. How do you find swaps in your area?

If you cannot find someone to swap with try to find someone who can swap fertile eggs. Then replace the roosters.
