Hey Jim, Glad you found your bird thief! Always the last one you'd expect... I sent 22 Butler Bobs to the Kenmore Country Club too. Their live'n it up in the salt water spa as I type. Will send 12 more in the mornin, I got hot and quit about 3:00... I picked my largest birds for breeders. Kept 6 hens and 2 roos out of each group, the rest fulfilled their destiny...
I forgot to weigh any till I was almost done. finally did pull out the scale thou.
WARNING! THERE ARE PIX OF REAL, DEAD, NAKED BIRDS BELOW.....
The same bird undressed....
The heat has been get'n harder on my birds every day. I lost a bi coturnix hen today... The first one I'v lost. She had been effected the most by the hot. Ice water and the fan was'nt enough... Its effecting the rest of the girls too... Todays eggs were out of the norm for sure. One ith no paint at all, 2 really small but normal color, and one purple-ish... should have been 8... but these were it... cant seen the purple good but its there.
While I was clean'n birds, the mail lady drove up to deliver a package I had been expecting... I had just had my head in the 8' quail shaq and caught the next victim when I noticed her. Well my hands were a bit bloody, and I was'nt going to let go of the bird I had just caught, so with my cleanest hand and a bob in the other, I took my box....She was a bit "stand off-ish" to say the least... It was what will be the heart of my next, white lab coat project.... "The brooder-ator" ....
This little gem was a gift from a very generous member of the quail board that can out them self if they so choose. But I thank you very much for the hardware... Its dual heat elements and light bulbs controlled by a wafer thermostat. A quite simple but effective set up that I have never seen before... Bill
