Hey Jim, Glad you found your bird thief! Always the last one you'd expect... I sent 22 Butler Bobs to the Kenmore Country Club too. Their live'n it up in the salt water spa as I type. Will send 12 more in the mornin, I got hot and quit about 3:00... I picked my largest birds for breeders. Kept 6 hens and 2 roos out of each group, the rest fulfilled their destiny...

I forgot to weigh any till I was almost done. finally did pull out the scale thou.

WARNING! THERE ARE PIX OF REAL, DEAD, NAKED BIRDS BELOW.....

The heat has been get'n harder on my birds every day. I lost a bi coturnix hen today... The first one I'v lost. She had been effected the most by the hot. Ice water and the fan was'nt enough... Its effecting the rest of the girls too... Todays eggs were out of the norm for sure. One ith no paint at all, 2 really small but normal color, and one purple-ish... should have been 8... but these were it... cant seen the purple good but its there.

While I was clean'n birds, the mail lady drove up to deliver a package I had been expecting... I had just had my head in the 8' quail shaq and caught the next victim when I noticed her. Well my hands were a bit bloody, and I was'nt going to let go of the bird I had just caught, so with my cleanest hand and a bob in the other, I took my box....She was a bit "stand off-ish" to say the least... It was what will be the heart of my next, white lab coat project.... "The brooder-ator" ....

This little gem was a gift from a very generous member of the quail board that can out them self if they so choose. But I thank you very much for the hardware... Its dual heat elements and light bulbs controlled by a wafer thermostat. A quite simple but effective set up that I have never seen before... Bill

QuailShaQ South soon to be occupants... lil "Mudd" and "Nike" behind her, back in Florida... they are gonna keep a lil milk goat "Heather" and a BUNCH of Quail company...

Thats a purdy calf there TD! Little Bro and I sold off 62 cow calf pair few years ago... I miss the calves bounce'in around in the spring. Its cloudy and sprinkled just a few drops here this morn'in... Dropped the temp down to 77 too.... And all the quail birds danced!! Bill

Hope some of those coturnix del blanco eggs I set the other night are cooking just right...

they will be living in the limelight...

What you own is your own kingdom
What you do is your own glory
What you love is your own power
What you live is your own story
In your head is the answer
Let it guide you along
Let your heart be the anchor
And the beat of your song.

Ohhhhhh...You don't get something for nothing....

Good luck with your hatch there TD. I set another 3 dozen browns yesterday too. I processed 34 Bobs this weekend, Got them vac-sealed and in the freezer. Lot of good meals there!!

I got browns hatch'n as we speak. 2 in the brooder so far, 2 in the bator, 1 zip'n, and who knows how many pips... There is 49 in this batch so we'll see. There due tomorrow night so we're just a tad early.

Another 30 due to lock down Wednesday and hatch this coming Saturday... Should have a good group to pick breeders from in a couple months or so... Gonna give a couple dozen away. The rest will be tasty this winter!

My coturnix only gave up 5 eggs again today. The heat has them stressed out bad even thou it was cooler today. Rain'n now, big thunder and lighting too. Hope it helps the birds feel better about life... Bill
