I know you can sometimes sex Barred Rocks by the spot size and shape on the head of the chick. I've had really good luck in doing this so far. What I'd like to know does or would the same apply for Barred OEGB's? I had several Barred OEGB's hatch out yesterday, all of them with different sized and shaped white spots on their heads so I'm just wondering. If it does apply, then it will help me get a head start on finding homes for the males. Thanks in advance for any information!

Regardless of breed, if a male bird carries two copies of hte barring gene it can be distinguished from females and males who carry only one copy. Females and males carrying only one copy cannot be distinguished from each other by headspot.

Ok...thank you
