Question about keeping chickens in the front yard.

I looked up the law it doesn’t say anything about the front yard. Like I said before it just says about distance from neighboring buildings

6' might work, especially if you initially clip their wing feathers. But I'd suggest a secure small run in addition, for a back-up, in case there are issues.

We have a 5' fence separating our yard from the woods behind us. The chickens tend to stay in the yard until yesterday. One flew over the 5' fence and couldn't figure out how to get back. She is a white Plymouth Rock. Cleared it by plenty. I suppose if I left her long enough she would have come back. But that area is right where all the critters approach the yard.
