Hello everyone,
Ive been raising a small flock of chickens for 5 months now. Today I went to a local chicken sawp meet at Tractor Supply. I ended up buying a 8 week old black cochin. When I got her home today I examined her more thoroughly and noticed her crop seemed abit large, soft and mushey. Upon doing a little research I thought it might be sour crop, however there is no strong foul oder from her breath. This afternoon she ate and drank fine, she seems Ok , checks out her new surroundings, scratches around, doesnt seem sickly. Also she pooped 6 times today First couple where normal solid brown with a little white in it and there were some that were soild with a little clearish whiteish runnyness to them. I am withholding food from her tonight to see what happens. This is the first cochin Ive owned so do they normally have a bigger brest that seems mushy or is there something worng with her crop. Any suggestions, Id hate to loose her she is such a friendly and awsome pullet she loves perching on my shoulder.
Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions,
Justin
