Question about quail

My head wasn't in the Right place lol. The only ones ive seen are the Japanese quail.. They're light brown with some black and white spots
A lady here sells them at 35 days for around 30 cents
Oh ok, I know black throated Bob's are in Venezuela and in the Campeche region in Mexico, just thought maybe that's what you were referring to when you said common quail....that's what alot of the locals call'em.
30cts. dang, wish I was there!!!:drool

Quail lay fewer eggs (and with less fertility) after a year old. Since they start laying at about 8 weeks, you can time it so that you are replacing the older quail with new layers every year.

I haven't retired my oldest hens yet, but I've read that their meat doesn't get tough as with chickens, so you should be able to prepare them in the same way as younger birds.
