They've been saying it since the time of the Apostles. And actually, before that, Adam and Eve were expecting the Messiah imminently. But God's tming is not our timing. His patience and mercy are beyond our comprehension. And no, you're not rude at all. It's a legitimate question. But regardless of when Jesus comes to this planet, death comes to all of us, often suddenly and unexpectedly. And at that time, judgment comes to each of us. Our time is up and our next conscious thought will be standing at the Judgment Seat, where our eternal destiny will be determined, death or eternal life.Haven’t people been saying the end is near every year for hundreds of years?
I hope that doesn’t come off as rude, I’m not religious and if the rapture does happen I am going to be stuck down here with me chickies (which I do not mind)
In that eternal life you can have all the chickens you want, actually. It's not "pie in the sky by and by," floating on clouds and playing harps. We'll have gardens and eat the fruit of them; we'll build our own houses and live in them. Isaiah 65:21. There will be animals but they will not be fierce. See Isaiah 11:6, Isaiah 65:25 for example.
