I placed an order, hatch date today....do they typically send out a notice letting you know they were shipped? If so when did they send it in relation to your hatch date? Thanks

Here they are...most are still under the ecoglow. Got 4 females and 1 male of each the choc runners and cayugas, they even sent an extra straight run choc runner

Eta- this is just a temp box for today...dh is making them a decent sized brooder later

By phone or email they will let you know. So you should receive your ducklings Wednesday and maybe even Thursday since your in Maine, then a call from the post office letting you know they are in.

I think I got an email but I ordered online. They will send it the day they ship. I had made plans to be off on day 2 and day 3 just in case. Make sure that you call your post office ahead of time and let them know that you are expecting ducklings. Ask them to call you ASAP so you can pick them up. If you are more rural you may want to get there early before a call. My post office is only 10 minutes away. They called me about 8 am and had them in the manager's office. My ducklings arrived on the second morning, shipped Tuesday arrived Thursday AM and I am in central Florida. Good luck!

Oh because of the distance, I got the gro-gel pack for a few dollars more. It was completely gone whent they arrived.

I placed an ordered in march (online) for a shipping date of april 4th. Got an e-mail the next day that they would be shipped in the evening of april 4th. Never heard another word from them until I e-mailed them on the 5th to see if they had been shipped. In the meantime I notified my post office that I was expecting a shipment on the 6th and asked them to call me as soon as they arrived. At 7:05 am on the 6th I got a call they were here. That afternoon I received an e-mail from Metzers that they were shipped on the 4th.
I wanted some geese so I called them in June and was told the next hatch date was July 4th but since it was a holiday they wouldn't be shipped until the evening of the 5th. Sure enough on July 7th at 7:00 am the post office called me to pick them up.
So they are true to their word. They give you a date when you place your ordered then you just sit back and wait. Be sure to notify your post office that you are expecting them on the date they gave you and have them call you when they arrive.

They sent an email and phoned my house. If you were set for that hatch date for sure it should only take 1-2 days to arrive i believe. It only took 1 day for me and I live in CA! (not sure if that makes a difference)

For me I made a phone and mail order and I never got anything saying which date they were coming.
They asked for my first and second choice shipping date. They usually ship every Monday except for
when they don't have the breed you want. Mine arrived the morning after on Tuesday the mailman left
it on my mailbox and I heard chirping! haha. All 10 were healthy and adorable!
If you're worried about it or anything just call them, they are always nice and help you out right away
and if you email them, they respond right back

thanks everyone. I placed the order online. I called yesterday and they called me back. They were indeed shipped on the 25th(as ordered) and would probably be here tomorrow(which is now today). I got a call this a.m. and they are at the P.O.

eta- she did say that online orders have a problem with the tracking info getting sent, especially when the order is a bit out(mine was 3 weeks before the ship date)
