Today's question is from @Evadig:
What does healthy (eating) mean to you?
To me, it means:
  • A balanced diet of fresh fruits & vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and low-fat dairy
  • No sugary drinks
  • Limiting salt, sweets, fried food, butter, chips, processed meats
  • Drinking lots of water
  • No alcohol

To me it means fresh and natural. Butter is better than processed oils, whole raw milk is better than store bought skim. Low carbs and whole grains if carbs are consumed. No sugars and no pop. Lots of good meat, fruits, and veggies

For me healthy eating is home cook meals, no process foods, no fast food, no soft drink, no substitute real food with artificial stuff.

I came to the conclusion that no matter what we eat, we consume chemical anyway because it is everywhere in our food/water. The apples already spray with chemical to stop it from sinking, the garlic/beans we imported are soaked in chemicals to stop them sprouting.

I read that those chemicals are not harmful because they are below the limit, but with each apple I eat every day, and other stuff, it all build up.

1) grassfed/pastured meat sources; pastured eggs
2) organic/nonGMO fruits and vegetables
3) organic/nonGMO whole grains
4) grassfed milk or raw milk if the source is good and known
5) not consuming fast or processed foods - or stuff with more than a few ingredients (especially if you can’t pronounce them)
6) raw cane sugar in very small amounts, limited occasions
7) no artificial sweeteners
8) plenty of water
9) avoiding fried stuff; using olive oil to sautee
10) fish from its natural source/habitat - not farmed in odd locations
11) eating the actual amount required for nutrition and energy vs eating too much/for entertainment
