I bought 3 month year old chickens and I will be putting them up on here, hopefully, but I bought them for my mom and there at her place. I was wondering what is a good sign to look for to telling me there roosters or hens. most have big coms and I'm gettin nervous that I may have 5 roosters out of 6. Also most have little little bumps on there legs where a spur would be but some are so small you can barely tell there there or they have a tiny white dot. Would that be something a chicken would have or just roosters. Plus I was told if you hold the chickens upside down the hen will just hang there and spread there wings open and the rooster will curl up is that true?

Hens and Rooster both have sprus. I dont know for sure if that works but I've heard of it. I know hens that have very big combs so sometimes you cant judge them by that. The best way to tell is there Hackle and Saddle feathers. Hackle feathers are chickens neck feathers and on roosters they're pointed and on hens there round. Roosters have saddle feather. They are right at the base of the tail and and are long and pointed. But they dont start to show up till they are a older yours are probably old enough. If you lift up there wings at the tip of the wing you can see them starting to come out.
