Hello! I think my chicken has bumblefoot, she’s limping and I see a black patch on the bottom of her foot. My vet isn’t available until Tuesday. What should I do?

Picture is out of focus, and I would clean the foot and get another picture. But it does look like the telltale scab we see on the footpad thatbis bumblefoot. It is not an emergency, and can wait until Tuesday, but you are capable of treating it at home. Soak the feet in warm soapy water or Epsom salts to soften the scab and clean up the feet. Try to remove the scab and squeeze out the core of pus underneath. Sometimes the scab may need to be cut out with a scalpel or biopsy punch. Other methods include applying clear iodine or Prid drawing salve and wrap the foot for a couple of days. Here is some information to read:

Thanks so much! We cleaned it with Epsom salts, put anti-microbial on it. Wrapping it was recommend by a family member who also has many chickens once I was able to get ahold of her. Thanks so much for the information!! I will go through it thoroughly!
