Questions with incubation.....HELP?

Yes I have a turner in both and need to take it out of the one I have on day 18 today so they can hatch. And yes humidity did go up with the sponge.....but I am not sure how high it should go. If I put second hatch on eggs in second bator that also has a turner will they be ok for a few days till I can move them back after hatch is done??? I will hand turn if they don't turn with the others.

how far along are the second batch and how many are there?

ok this Q & A is too slow... I am going to assume a few things..

Yes you can move the eggs from batch 2 to the other bator for a few days..

your temp is good at 99 F to 101 F...

try to get your hum up to 60% at 99.5F.. a little more will not hurt..

OK then, time to do it..

are you going to put the hatching eggs into egg cartons?

You can still lay them on their sides and it keeps the hatched chicks from bumping the unhatchd eggs around.. you can also set the eggs into the cartons normally..

just remove the bottoms of the egg holding cups to allow heat and hum at the egg easier..

all 6 of my LG are "used" I never paid particular attention to the seal until just recently.. I suppose you could have something there about the fit. as long as you set the top exactly in the same orientation with the bottom each time. ie.pick a side and mark it
" front"...

the "wacky" temps could be from setting the top back on differently than you removed it,,say 90 degrees or 180 degrees rotated..

Or , most likely, just bumping the top and causing it to shift location on the bottom.. causing the "seal" to change.. this is why I am going to duct tape the top to the bottom

somebody tried to tell me that they were told that the seal was like that on purpose to allow the air from getting stale.. I do not buy that explanation.. If I need more air, I will drill another larger hole in the top and cover it with a metal or wood plate .. then I can regulate the air by sliding the plate partially over the hole or what ever it takes to maintain temps and humidity.. this works real well wih my cabinet models.
and they are a darn site tighter than the styrofoam ones.
