My house
I went to check on my eggs and when I moved the light the flash light fell into the bator right on top of the eggs!! It cracked two. One I think is a goner, I can see the veins and think it may start bleeding. The other is barely cracked. A tiny chip broke off but the membrane is intact. I have heard of people using candle wax so I was wondering I have some candle making wax left over from where I had made candles but it's slightly scented. Is that ok to use? And do you think it would be worth it to try and fix the other too?

UDATE:
So the one worse off died like the next day but the one not so bad did ok....For a while. A couple days ago I noticed no movement. I gave it a couple more days just in case and it was definately dead. I opened it very slowl and carefully and noticed that the chick's internal organs were on the outside. It had feathers and all and from the other one I opened that died days earlier I don't think that that was normal. You think it was a defect?

try and fix them!! It may be worth the risk if you can save even one. You'll know from the smell in a few days if it didn't work.

I think the one is a gonner. I checked it clsoer after posting this and the membrane is rutured and the shell is cracked all the way around. though it is only one tiny spot that the membrane rubtured. the lesser cracked one only has the small crack and tiny chip out if the shell and the membrane is intact. AHHH I am so mad at myself!!

i had an 2 quail eggs crack on day 14. One had a mild crack but the egg shell was indented in a bit. I left the egg alone and the chick hatched unassisted on day 18 and the chick was fine. The other egg was pretty smashed up. Even though i left it for the full incubation period the chick had died in the crush. You are probably better off just leaving the eggs alone and see if it will hatch.

Well I patched them up and put them in ICU. I have heard that drying out is the biggest problem with eggs that get cracked so I'm going to start misting just those eggs twice a day. I got all the cracks sealed on both eggs and placed them in an egg carton I had saved for them to hatch in once they were ready. So I went ahead and put them in it and will tilt the carton for turning so I wont have to handle them as much and cause more damage. I candled them before putting wax since I don't know how well I'll be able to with purple wax on them and both babies were bouncing around like they were. I'm going to be keeping my fingers crossed.
