You're welcome. How'd it turn out? I have almost 3 quarts, a 5 year old son with a cold and at least 6 inches of new snow on the ground (more fell but it was heavy and condensed some). Chicken soup for lunch!!
I just tasted it and it's amazing. The turkey carcus almost completely disolved and
the carrots so good too. Not bad for a picked over turkey carcus, garlic, carrots,
and pepper. I added 2 more cups of water and some salt and will let it cook for a
few more hours before straining. We are gonna make some egg noodles for it.
We have 4 chickens I processed yesterday soaking in salt water in the fridge. We
were gonna cook those today but I'll wait till tommorrow or throw them
in the freezer
How did you end up with 3 quarts? Did you dilute your stock? How much chicken
did you start with?
I threw in the chicken carcass, a little of the left over meat, veggies and filled the crock pot with water right to the top. I think it's a 5 or 6 qt. crock. It was really strong after I strained it so I added a cup of water. I got two full quarts and another 2.5 cups so not quite three full quarts.
Do you make your egg noodles from scratch? If so will you share the recipe? Pleeeeaaase?
