I feel guilty asking too many questions in other peoples threads. Now I get to ask all I want... and hope for good answers.

I was just reading (a lot of things. One link led to another) an article by @TwoCrows that said quail can’t have constant ACV. I also saw where a guy was fermenting the quail feed.
If this is like giving calcium to a rooster, I’m not worried (Steven is four. He ain’t dead yet!). If FF is different than giving ACV daily because it’s not actually that much ACV (only a trace after a month), then please let me know that.

I don't use ACV in my fermented feed, for chickens or quail. Just filtered water and food.

While I provide fermented food every day, there's always dry crumble available so they have the option to choose.

Yep! I haven't run into any issues with feeding my cots them.

Yep! I haven't run into any issues with feeding my cots them.

Mine are butts and demand I soak their feed if I'm out of crumble.

They'll get used to it and should be fine with places to hide. Eventually they do learn that they're safe in their pen.

If you plan on raising these quail from chicks, it could be a good idea to introduce them to "scary" animals and sounds early on. Mine had cats and a dog hovering outside their brooder since hatch, and now will come right up to our pets through the wire without fear. Cover helps tons.
