It always hurts to lose a lot of birds to a predator strike. I'm sorry for your loss.

Even though the fence is five feet tall I run a hot wire around the top of my stationary hen yard for just this reason.

I know what it is to lose an entire coop's worth - just 4 brand new chicks, though. Unfortunately, it was our dog that did it, so no .22 caliber solution.

I'm truly sorry for you.
