Unfortunately no roo...I wish this didn't have to happen. I keep trying to think this isn't real but it isYou're welcome. No, she didn't. I'm so so sorry. I've lost birds before too. Several times to predators. It really hurts.
Do you have a roo? You could maybe try hatching one of her eggs if you do. I've done that before. It does help.
That's good that you blew an egg out to keep. Keeping feathers/eggs/babies from lost birds eases the pain.
I feel ya. I'm sorry.![]()

Thanks. Perri was such a beloved chicken and had a great lifeI'm so sorry about that, losing birds or any animal is always hard. RIP Perri
Thank you so much, you are a wonderful person.I am so sorry to hear about your sweet Perri. Rest assured that one thing you will NEVER hear anyone say here is 'it was just a chicken'. She was a well loved bird and rest assured that her little soul is flying free.
I don't know how foxes are in Queensland but here once they know where the buffet table is, they come back for seconds. Good job keeping your remaining flock locked up. You will either have to eliminate the fox or reinforce your run and coop.
Here in Missouri, USA we can shoot predator animals that have killed livestock but I have no idea what you are allowed to do where you are. Maybe your parents can help you out with that.
Until then...![]()
