Rabbit got into a fight, now it’s eye looks terrible. Advice needed!

I would personally go w the packet of Wellie and not the foaming neosporin....
And.
I’m not familiar w the foaming neosporin but. I did match up the ingredients on the label of the wellie w various prescriptions I’ve been given for my pets’ eyes through the years and
Well
That would be my choice, personally.
I wouldn’t want foam in my eye, either.
So I may be bias
Thank
You! Maybe I’ll go with the well then

I know regular Neosporin is safe... I'm not sure if yours in any different. I'd use it.

If there are scratches or a cut in the eye...I'd not use it.

Ok, I’ve completely cleaned it. It’s just really swollen currently

So far I have cleaned his eye with a warm washcloth, and currently he is in a very clean hutch resting. He seems ok, just a little scared because I’m messing with him so much. Still a great appetite.

I think I will hold off putting anything on his eye for a bit…I don’t want to do more damage then good…I am thinking about trying the chamomile tea bag, because I’ve had so much luck with it past times?

A thought. Is there any vet closer to you who you can ask if they'll sell you some eye ointment or something?
I know the bunny I cared for that had an injured eye the vet gave us an ointment that they keep on the shelves for dogs and cats too.
It would be worth ringing them and explaining your situation to see if they can help.
Hope he heals well for you :hugs

I'd leave him alone for now and just watch him.

I understand the contra indications, but, it sounds like an RX is not an option.

....my vote is that something is better than nothing, as the ophthalmic version is prescription only.

I would personally feel better about doing something and succeeding (or failing...), compared to doing nothing other than cleaning, if the vet was not an option.

Thoughts?
