Raccoon Attack Sends Woman to Hospital

Very scary!

the article doesn't specify, but I'd assume if she's out jogging on a trail it was during daylight- meaning this raccoon attack took place during the day. We talk so much here about fortifying the coop against night time attacks, but this would mean we also need very strong daytime protection for our runs.

Yes she and her dog were on the trails in Lakewood (South of Tacoma).
There seems to be a story or two about raccoon attacks here every year.

Imp- and I often see them during the day.

Should serve as a warning to those looney-toons who feed raccoons and think life is a Disney movie.

ETA: Was there a link for that story? Guess she's in for a series of rabies shots.

Yikes!! Now I don't feel bad at all for the ones I've gotten rid of this year. My sister had been feeding the raccoons in her backyard-----she quit because they became too brave and annoying. I'm glad she finally came to her senses!

I read that story yesterday. If they attacked me I would be back out in the forest killing those coons asap. After all bears and mountain lions get killed when they attack and/or kill humans,so why not the coons!?!?!?!
