Raccoon? Help! Rabies? I was swimming in the river with my 2 dogs and, out of no where they run out of the water and into the woods barking, then i herd a screem and then the male dog came out of the woods to me to see a little raccoon alive in his mouth. he killed it, and brought it home. but when i came outside after like an hour it was died, the male dog was sitting far away from it, and my two female girls would not evan come close to it!!! Then i let another male dog out and he saw it ran to it brought it up to the house and then after sitting it down got away from it fast as he could!!! The raccoon had yellow crusty stuff coming out of the raccoon mouth. Raccoon? Help! Rabies? Plus, i need to know because there are three big raccoons that live right next to my yard, on the edge of the woods!

Sounds like your dogs probably don't have rabies vaccine. I would get the raccoon tested.
It's illegal to own a dog and not keep them up to date on rabies vaccines. I'm not sure if you receive a fine for not doing so or what the punishment is.
I would think that if animal control found out that your dogs were in contact with an animal like this, they would want to observe your dogs for 10 days. After that, if your dogs are healthy, I would suggest vaccinating them regularly so you don't have to worry about this sort of thing.

It would be a good idea to have the coon tested if your dogs haven't been vaccinated. Even if that one tested negative, though, I would be concerned about your dogs being exposed if there are other coons in the area. If your dogs have been vaccinated, you shouldn't have anything to be worried about. In some areas of the country, animal control might want to come pick up the coon so they can test it for the purpose of keeping an eye on the spread of rabies in their area.

Even if the dog was up to date with it's rabies shots, it needs to be taken for a booster shot, if it was bit by a raccoon. It may have been a rabid raccoon. Raccoons are a rabies vector animal. Rabies is almost always fatal if not treated.

Call animal control - they may want the coon to test or bring it to the vet to test. Call your vet.
Do you know if the dogs were bitten?

In the meantime, remove the coon from your dogs' access. No reason to let them play with a dead animal.
