Poor opossum came to the front door last night. Something had been after it. It
Was bloody. Poor little possum.

I used to think possums were nasty little pests but did you know they are actually very good to have around? They are a great clean up crew for all sorts of things. They eat snakes too. I especially like that! I think that as far as chickens an ducks go they are mostly interested in the eggs not the birds unless they are really hungry. Here is an interesting article about them:

I've had Opossums come right into the fencing and eat the birds feed with all the birds just milling around not the least bit afraid.
