Put up some electric fence around your coop that should do the trick. Try some foot hold traps to they work very well when baited with raw chicken livers and gizards.

I have more live traps on order.. one isnt enough this year
I would never use a leg hold trap since:
1) we have barn cats.. don't want to catch our best mousers in one.. and
2) I am a certified Klutz.. I know darn well I would forget it was there and step in it myself.. probably while barefoot.. yeah.. I am just that talented!

Not a fan of leg hold traps because of our pets. If you lived far away from others, maybe they would be okay, but I am not a fan myself because of unintended victims.

Live trap, shoot, repeat.
