Okay so it's raining here today and usually I would let my chickens out but I have decided to try keeping them in the coop today. They have recently had lice and have been treated with Sevin Dust. Now when I was a dog groomer dog who ended up with lice were often the ones bathed and not dryed properly by their owners or left outside in the rain with no shelter. Can getting wet be one of the causes of chickens getting lice? Cause when my chickens are outside they love the water. If it's raining they could care less.

Wet or dry will not affect them getting lice as they are passed by wild birds or your shoes and clothing. Anytime you visit a feed store or someones flock you can bring them back. Remember to retreat them and the coop in 7-10 days.
