A few pics of My Slow grow Sasso Galouise which are 2.5 weeks old now.












I will weigh them at 4 weeks for my records.

It would be the interesting to get a comparison. Egghead Jr has a thread where people are weighing each of their different breeds at 4weeks for a general comparison. Are you on that? It will be interesting to see how the breeds compare.

I'm hoping these slow grow Sasso's are not growing to fast as I don't want them having the wobbly leg syndrome

I will compare but when I get my Medium grow Sasso's I expect better weights.

The hatchery I buy from call these Sasso medium grow chicks Farm Rangers, they probably the same as your Red Rangers Ha.

Yes I bet you are right. I know they have another name elsewhere. Same as my Dixie Rainbows are also known as Pioneer.

So when I built my meat coop I had 90+ weather and humidity in mind. Not 40 and lower rainy days. I knew I would have to create a rain shield eventually but it was not a high priority. That is how I found myself standing in the rain last night tacking sheets to the coop walls.

We got it done, despite my giggleing as i was doing to because i was hanging curtians on my chicken coop.
But they stayed dry all night and that was really the important part.

This big guy sees no reason to leave his nice dry coop in search of food. I imagine if he figures out how many worms the rest are getting he would change his mind.

There was a nice little batch of Buff Rock chicks hatched last night.
First time with this breed & looking forward to watching them progress.

I have not tried hatching yet. Thinking it might be next year's project.
