I mentioned this when another one of our long term members had passed: Being connected online to so many people has some "drawbacks", and this is one of them. You meet thousands more people you otherwise wouldn't have. Added on top of that is the ability to be easily notified and find out instantly when this kind of thing happens.

Thankfully the pros of all the connectivity usually outweigh the cons. "It is better to have met and lost, than to never have met at all."

When Ranchy first took ill I asked her if there was anybody on the forum that she wanted me to let know what was going on. She told me no, that she had already let her closest friends know and that no one else cared. I knew she was wrong. I knew she didn't realize how many lives she touched every day.

Against her wishes and risking a friendly butt chewing, I set out to let some folks know. People that I knew thought the world of her whether she realized it or not.

I know that when Ranchy felt up to it she got online to thank those folks that sent cards and good wishes. In case she didn't get a chance to contact you personallly, know this. Your cards, letters and good wishes meant the world to her.

From Ranchy - You may be the REAL Imp, judging by all the nice cards I've gotten! It's been wonderful!

This is so hard for me to comprehend. She will be so missed, for so many reasons, by so many people, for so very long.

This may be a weird thing for me to post, but it's my favorite memory of her. There was a "Going Green" thread in GJF and we all got off-topic... She said she wasn't surprised, considering the section the thread was in. I got me hackles up and told her off, and from then on I considered her a friend.

Rest in peace, Sally. You will never be forgotten.

I feel very lucky that I was able to know her. She'll never be forgotten.
