I'm keeping my roosters that I was going to rehome. When Peanut Gallery started growing saddle feathers, I shook my fist in the general direction of SC and yelled, "WHY DID YOU DO THIS TO ME?!"
I never got to chew her out for it, and now I don't want to.

Ranchhand, Ranchie, Sally . . . we sure are gonna miss you! You touched us here in so many ways. My prayers and condolences to your family and friends.

I'm going to reach out today to a couple of other BYC friends I haven't heard from recently - it's never too late to tell someone you value having them in your life.

Ranchy jokingly cursed me every day for naming a chicken after her, but deep down I knew it meant alot to her. Ranchy always asked about Sally when we talked and she cheered the day that Sally laid her first egg. Like a proud mama Ranchy was sure that Sally was an extraordinarily special hen.

Last night after the initial shock had somewhat abated, and as I tried to compose the start of this thread I knew that the impact Sally has had on BYC and on so many of our life would far exceed what and how much I knew of her. In my mind's eye I can visualize her reading this tribute, chuckling, and exclaiming "What a bunch of horse hockey!". Yep that was our girl, outspoken, funny, and one of the kindest souls I ever had the priviledge of knowing.

I talked with her husband Todd a little while ago and informed him that per his request I had notified all of her dear BYC friends. He was deeply touch by everyone's response and I'm sure will take great solice from all of your posts when he is able to read them.
