That reminds me of when we were voice chatting once and I asked her to take Tiger near the computer so I could say hello. So she brought him close and then I started shouting "Tiger, get the peanut butter!, where's the peanut butter!?" It is his favourite treat and the mere mention of it sends him into excited fits. So he would be jumping all over the place like an excited elephant and she would be desperately trying to calm him down while I just fell about laughing.

She called me that naughty name a lot too!

I LOVE this!!! You gotta know she is in heaven riling up all the dogs and getting them barking. And then she is sitting back to just laugh and laugh and laugh.

This thread is progressing just as I had hope it would. The expected amount of sadness with lots more of the kindness and the humor of her friendship.

Being new to BYC, I did not have the pleasure of knowing Ranchie. I can tell, however, that she was a wonderful person by the beautiful words you all are saying about her. What a tribute to a life well-lived!

I was very sorry to read Opa's post. A dear friend was lost with the passing of Ranchie.

I hope none of you were ever on the phone or chatting with Sally when a fire truck went by. She taught the dern dogs to "sing" with the sirens. We live less than 3 miles from one of the area's firestations,so no matter which way they go, the start to "sing". Tis is funny at 3 P.M.,but not at 3A.M.

I don't have a dog, so I never had the pleasure of a howl-fest.

But, I have another memory...

Because of Sally's description of this oft-repeated event, I have this vivid picture in my mind of Todd reading his newspaper with his reading glasses perched on his nose. Sally would tell him something outrageous about one of us. Most spouses would have responded with a smart-a~~ comment. But, Sally would describe Todd as he sat there peering silently over his glasses in mock dismay, saying more than any comment ever could. Sally thought it was hilarious to get him to do that.

Todd, you're already a part of this crazy chicken family. You just didn't know it.
