That's what I tell my kids. They whine when they get a bad grade. They get anything below a C+ and I ground them for the marking period. No Phone, No Internet, no friends, No roller skating rink, No movie nights out. They control their own destiny. That's my kind of accountability.

Accountability, responsibility and training.

Something that a lot of folks in my area don't seem to understand or get. I wish I had a nickel for each pistol shot fired on a late Sat. night after the informal car racing on the highway out front. I've hit the deck a few times- while out in my own backyard.

Amen, Boyd! Guns do NOT kill people, it is people behind guns that kills other people. Even Charles Heston would be proud of ya!

While I don't think the average person needs to have access to an arsenal of assault rifles, (think David Coresh), I DO believe we have the right to arm ourselves, legally, responsibly, to protect our homes and loved ones.

I agree with you 100%!!! "Guns don't kill people, people kill people" If guns were banned, the criminals would either get illegal ones or find some other weapon. It has nothing to do with guns. I agree with the whole accountability issue in general! Aren't we suppose to be taught that when we are wee little kids?

As for the ammo fireworks...that's why I keep the extra ammo in the fire safe. If it gets hot enough that they go off in there, then that'll be one interesting looking firebox when all is said and done (not to mention what's inside (passports, birth certificates, auto titles, loan doc, etc!).

BTW, I think we should ban all automobiles because we have too many drunk drivers driving them! (please read that with sarcasm

I remember getting electrocuted by the wall outlet when I was 5 and thinking "mental note: don't do that again!"

My mom always told me "Prepare the child for the path, not the path for the child". Apparently, it is a long forgotten quote for many.
