**Rant** TSC and the NAIS!!!!!!!!

good for you Boyd!!!

they only ask us for our zip - which puts us on their mail list which is ok b/c i like their coupons they send.

however, i've been in fights at Lowes and other places over this. aside from NAIS concerns, when you give your phone# to a store you are giving them your permission to add you to their mail list and to sell your info to others. they say its for "marketing purposes" which is basically a lot of crap. i always ask if they need it for the bank card verification - which always sends them into a tail spin (this isnt how its used but it is how online vendors used to make sure your cc was ok to use for that purchase). if they dont give it up i just keep crankin' up the volume until they just stop asking and put the store phone number or just forget it. hee hee hee once at Victoria Secret i finally yelled at the 12 year old behind the counter that i would not give them my phone number because i did NOT want them sending their pornography(their catalog) into my home. and no i usually dont shop there! they hate it when i drag chicken poo and straw across their floors
;-)

anyway -

but wow! they are cross referencing your phone with what - your bank card???? i probably would have raised holy heck over that one.

: That was great I try to get all my feed at a local place to avoid that crap. If I pay with cash there the guy hand writes the reciept it's great like stepping back in time.

When a cashier asks me for my phone # I always amicalibly say "I don't give it out." I am not rude to the cashier or give them a hard time because they are just doing what their job requires them to do. It's the company that makes up the rules- not the cashier. They probably have to deal with people all the time that get smart with them about this. It would get tedious to deal with people who think they can be rude because they are frustrated with the store.

Good for you! I don't like it either when they ask for phone numbers. I give my work #. You would think that with all the identity theft going on these days - that we all should refuse to give out any personal information to anyone. Especially in a store where anyone in line can hear and use that information.

I also find that they are a lot more expensive than my local feed store. I would rather give my money to small guy and only go there when local feed store doesn't have it.

TSC asks for phone #'s with chicken stuff????? NOT out here! We don't even get asked for a zip code unless we travel into the 'city' and even then it's not a normal thing.

And what's NAIS? There are several different NAIS that came up on google.....
