You're right, they wouldn't join but I had to say it.
The other thing that is worthy of mention and I'm not sure anyone has (forgive me if you have and I missed it. I stopped reading the comments shortly after David appeared) is her mission to end the domestication of all animals. I can't even begin to wrap my head around this thinking when so many plants and animals domesticate themselves for survival. Has anyone watched 'Botany of Desire'? I think you can still watch it online (
http://video.pbs.org/video/1283872815/). It's a great documentary about how natural selection has helped certain plants not only survive but thrive, ensuring their species' prosperity. The ability to change genetics to aid in survival is not a human invention. We have adapted and done pretty well for ourselves but many, many plants AND ANIMALS have done the same and continue to do it, working off of each other in the process. The show used apples and flowers as examples. Apples used to be all but inedible to humans (not that long ago) and through genetic variances and slick adaptation
on the plant's behalf and careful selection on ours, we now have tasty apples and apples have secured their own survival, as have we. Win-win. If they were not open to these variances, they would go unchanged and both parties would potentially suffer or at least not benefit. It's worked for flowers, vegetables and it's worked for dogs and cats too. Wild animals learned, CHANGED, to team up with humans for survival - sometimes on their own terms - and it's worked out pretty good for both sides. It is true that humans are partially responsible but it's a two-way street and a long one from wild animal to a working relationship (or "slavery" as a vegan sees it) but we also may not be here if we hadn't domesticated. Maybe that's what they wish, I don't know. Either way, what she's attempting to do is mess with the nature of things. It's impossible for her and others like her to stop domestication entirely, even if she convinced the world, when it is a natural occurrence. Again, naivete.
