Hi Chicken Friends!

I bought a rare breed lot from Meyer hatchery. Supposedly all pullets. I can't tell what I have and Meyer couldn't tell me. The black and many of the barred pattern ones have light feathering on legs, so I'm thinking Marans.

I'm hoping Black Copper Marans for some and maybe Cuckoo marans?

There is a blue one w feathered legs too and a yellowish breast that I'm not sure about.

Then the brown ones. A few are the same and I thought they were Welsummers but not sure now that I'm seeing the feathers. Some are shades of brown and others have gray mixed in too.

Then there is a poofier one with dark beak end.

And a couple with speckled heads that I thought were Wyandottes but now not sure about them either!

Thanks in advance!

ok, well I think almost all marans have fuzzy legs except cuckoo marans, I believe that black and white one might be one, the first, possibly lavender Orpington, the rest, I'm not sure, brown chickens aren't my forte.
probably easter Eggers of some type. hatcheries seem to be laboring under the impression that these are rare or exotic.
you could have cochins or faveroles as the yellow fuzzy one.

I think the pale blue fluff ball in the first pic, looks like a langshan. At least it looks like the one we had. The mostly black with little white looks like our Anconas did. They get more white spectrum as they get older, but are definitely not barred.
The rest-IDK. Oh, and by the way, Cuckoo Marans can have fuzzy legs. French Marans have the fuzzy legs and they come in Cuckoo.

Thanks for the input 🤗 I agree, the brown ones are hard. They were able to tell me that my freebie chick was an Olive Egger which is as you said, their blend of breeds. But since they can vary in appearance, I don't know which one it is 🙄.The blue one has feathered legs. They actually did send me a Lavender Orpington. I didn't take a pic of it because I knew for sure what it was.

I will look up Langshan - thanks!
Not Ancona, had one of those before too, because feather legged and they are predominantly yellow on front of face and body with black and these didn't start out that way.
You are right with cuckoo maran legs - I think it can go either way.

I didn't realize black and white girl had feathers legs.
I think it would drive me crazy to order a mix! :lau
